Kampala Metropolitan Police is currently probing a disturbing incident where a young couple engaged in a fatal altercation resulting in both their deaths. The tragic event unfolded at Mosque Zone, Kibuli Parish, Makindye Division on a Wednesday.

The individuals involved have been identified as Arnold Senkungu, a 24-year-old barber, and his 21-year-old girlfriend, Shina Atwine, a student. The shocking incident came to light when neighbors observed fresh bloodstains on the couple’s locked door at Senkungu Arnold’s residence in Kabalagala.Neighbors, upon discovering the distressing scene, forcibly entered the premises.

Senkungu Arnold, found alive, succumbed to injuries at Kibuli Hospital, while Atwine Shina was discovered lifeless with a deep neck wound, as detailed in a statement by KMP deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire.

The police’s homicide team, dispatched upon receiving the report, uncovered signs of a struggle at the crime scene. A new knife with fresh blood and witness statements played a crucial role in the investigation.According to witnesses, Senkungu had multiple injuries, suggesting a troubled marriage.

Atwine Shina had reportedly confided in a friend about mistreatment, leading her to purchase a new knife, possibly indicating premeditated murder. The investigation is ongoing to determine the motive behind the tragic incident.
