Marriage brings both happiness and challenges. When couples start a family, expectations run high, and everyone hopes for the blessing of children. But sometimes, when things don’t go as expected, those blessings can turn into trials that test love and unity. My name is Grace, and I live in Kampala, Uganda. For years, I endured one of the most painful experiences a woman can face—being blamed for not giving birth to a baby boy.

When I married my husband, Samuel, everything felt perfect. We loved each other deeply and looked forward to building a family together. Soon after our wedding, I gave birth to our first child, a beautiful baby girl. At first, my husband was happy, but he soon began insisting that our next child must be a boy. In his family, boys were seen as the pride of the lineage, the ones who carry the family name.
