My name is Brian, and I’m a student from Entebbe, Uganda. Ever since I can remember, I’ve dreamed of studying abroad, especially in America. I grew up watching other students travel for their studies and return with great opportunities, and I always believed that one day I would do the same. I put in the work at school and applied for scholarships every year, but time and again, I faced rejection.

For four years in a row, I tried everything—from academic scholarships to sports opportunities and cultural exchange programs—but nothing panned out. Each rejection was disheartening, yet I never lost hope. My family believed in me, and I wanted to make them proud.
