Once the Last in Class, Now a Top Honors Graduate!! My Real-Life Story
My name is Brian Katongole. I was raised in Masaka, Uganda, in a simple but caring family. My parents did all they could to provide me with a good education. They always believed I was meant for greatness. But in truth, academics were a constant challenge for me. No matter how much I studied, I couldn’t seem to grasp things as fast as my classmates. My performance was always below average. I was often the last in class. Teachers were disappointed. Some students mocked me. Others avoided me, calling me slow.
When I joined university, nothing seemed to change. I was accepted into Makerere University, but I lived with constant fear. Each lecture felt like a burden. I would study for long hours but still fail to remember what I had read. I began to wonder if I was facing a spiritual issue. I knew I wasn’t lazy—I gave it my all—but something always seemed to block my progress. Even when I studied with others, I was always the one who couldn’t respond to even the simplest questions.
