YUDA MP Scammed Me Kshs 100,000 in a Fake Gold Deal
How I Was Duped
It all started with a casual encounter outside a petrol station in Bungoma. A neatly dressed man approached me and introduced himself. “I’m Hon. [name removed] from Yuda. I partner with mining investors. You seem like a focused young man. Are you open to a business opportunity?”
I was stunned. An actual Member of Parliament speaking to me?
We exchanged phone numbers. A few days later, he called with what sounded like a solid business proposal. “There’s gold available for purchase in Kakamega. We can buy it at a low price and sell it to buyers in Dubai. I’ve handled similar deals before. I’ll connect you.”
He was persuasive. Spoke with authority. He even sent photos of gold bars and what looked like authentic shipping documents. He told me he needed Kshs 100,000 as a deposit to secure the shipment.
