“Eddy Kenzo Has No Talent, Just Pure Luck” Bebe Cool Fires Shots
Ugandan music heavyweights Bebe Cool and Eddy Kenzo are once again making headlines—this time not for their music, but for reigniting their ongoing feud over who truly deserves recognition among the country’s top artists.
The latest exchange began during an interview with popular YouTuber Kasuku, where Bebe Cool openly dismissed Kenzo’s accomplishments, suggesting his rise to fame was a result of luck rather than talent.
“I’ve said it before—Eddy had a lucky break, and he’s still riding that wave,” Bebe Cool stated. “He’s not even in my top 20 artists. Even with Sitya Loss, he hasn’t shown the consistency others have.”
Bebe Cool’s blunt remarks quickly drew attention online, sparking heated debates among fans, media, and industry insiders.
Eddy Kenzo, however, chose a measured response. Speaking in an interview with Sanyuka Uncut, the Grammy-nominated artist addressed the comments without trading insults, instead highlighting his track record.
“I respect that it’s Bebe’s opinion,” Kenzo said. “But let me ask—how many international stages has he performed on, and what global awards has he won?”
Kenzo went on to list his achievements: performing at the Africa Cup of Nations finals, touring the United States, winning a BET Award—the first for an East African artist—and receiving a Grammy nomination for his collaboration Gimme Love.
Kenzo’s response has been widely praised for its maturity and focus on facts. Many fans applauded his restraint, calling it a dignified rebuttal. Still, others argue that Bebe Cool was simply voicing a candid perspective on Uganda’s music scene.
The clash has once again spotlighted the long-standing rivalry between the two stars—a rivalry that has played out both on and off stage for years.
Regardless of which side one takes, the exchange underscores the fierce competitiveness of Uganda’s music industry, where passion, pride, and performance continue to drive the narrative.
