Exposed!! How Burundo Alex’s Academic Documents Bear The Same Name As That Of His Cousin Brother Musingo Alex

A new twist has emerged in the ongoing scandal involving NRM MP aspirant Burundo Alex, who is allegedly using forged academic documents to contest for the 2026 parliamentary elections in Bulambuli County.

Some voters are worried the academic papers Hon Burundo submitted belong to his cousin named Musingo Alex getting the story stranger.

In an attempt to explain the similarities, Hon Burundo reportedly said that Musingo Alex is his cousin, and “the brother to the sister in Kampala” where he allegedly stayed while attending Aggrey Memorial School.

His explanation raises one very serious question; If Musingo Alex is his cousin, how is it that Burundo’s academic documents also carry the exact same name, Musingo Alex?

In Uganda, it’s rare and suspicious for two cousins to share the exact full name unless it was done deliberately. But how? It’s even more questionable when only one set of academic records exists, and those are now being used by Burundo to run for Parliament.

This coincidence, as pointed out by the voter, doesn’t look like a family quirk it looks like a cover-up.

According to the petition filed to the NRM Electoral Commission, Burundo Alex originally served as a local council leader (LCIII) under his original name “Burundo Alex” for over 15 years. His name was consistent in official records, including government payments, voter registers, and salary slips. Yet, just before contesting for MP in 2016, he changed his name via deed poll to include “Musingo,” becoming Burundo Musingo Mungoma Alex.

Then again in 2019, he altered the order of names, changing it to Burundo Mungoma Musingo Alex, both name changes happening conveniently close to election seasons.

Critics and voters now believe that these name changes were not innocent at all. They suspect that Burundo deliberately altered his name to match that of his cousin, Musingo Alex, in order to use his cousin’s academic qualifications and present them as his own.

Furthermore, the petition notes that Burundo’s claimed primary school, Wahanwanyi, didn’t even have a UNEB exam center when he says he studied there making it impossible for him to have legally sat his PLE exams from that school. That adds even more doubt to his education story.

Meanwhile, former students and teachers from Aggrey Memorial School and Mbale Secondary School the schools listed on the forged certificates say they don’t remember Burundo attending at all. Instead, they associate those documents and school records with Musingo Alex, the supposed cousin.

So the question remains; If the documents belonged to his cousin, why are they now in Burundo’s name? Why did Burundo feel the need to change his name to match his cousin’s, just in time for political nominations?

The whistleblower says this is not just a coincidence it is a calculated case of impersonation and academic fraud. And if this is not handled quickly and fairly by the NRM Electoral Commission, it could lead to legal battles and possible disqualification of their candidate.

As the investigation unfolds, one thing is clear: either two cousins somehow ended up with the exact same names and school history or someone is lying to the people of Bulambuli.
