I CAN’T BE THAT FOOLISH!! Eddy Kenzo Vows Never to Support Bobi Wine’s Stage Comeback
Eddy Kenzo, the renowned singer turned Presidential Advisor, has stated unequivocally that he will not support Bobi Wine’s return to performing on stage. He explained that advising President Museveni to allow the musician to perform freely is impossible because Bobi Wine’s intentions are politically motivated, aimed at challenging the current leadership.
“I can’t advise President Museveni about permitting Bobi Wine to freely return to the stage and perform as he used to do because the latter wants to unseat the former from his office,” Kenzo said. His remarks underscore the tension between the two Ugandan music stars, both of whom are influential political figures.
Kenzo pointed out that Bobi Wine has consistently used his stage as a platform to advocate for change and encourage opposition to the government. In his view, allowing such performances would indirectly support a political agenda that conflicts with the current administration.
“In the many moments he has had the chance to step on the stage, he has been preaching the gospel of unseating President Museveni from his position,” Kenzo said. “So, I’m not that stupid to advise the president to permit Bobi Wine to perform while preaching his change gospel because the stage is his gun that he uses to enlighten others to call for change.”
During the interview, Eddy Kenzo also revealed that he has unresolved personal issues with Bobi Wine. While he did not provide specifics, he hinted that past disagreements have made it impossible for him to publicly support the musician.
Despite these restrictions, Bobi Wine, whose real name is Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, remains highly popular both in Uganda and internationally. His music continues to attract large crowds, and his political message resonates strongly with many Ugandans seeking change.
The Ugandan government has repeatedly limited Bobi Wine’s performances, citing concerns over public order and political agitation. Nevertheless, his influence shows no sign of diminishing, with fans eagerly awaiting his next chance to perform.
Eddy Kenzo’s refusal to back Bobi Wine highlights the complex intersection of music, politics, and personal loyalty in Uganda. While both artists remain household names, their paths and allegiances have diverged, making it clear that Kenzo will not support Bobi Wine’s stage comeback.
