State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs, Dr. Balaam Ateenyi, has claimed that the X account of Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and First Son, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, was hacked and taken over by unknown individuals. Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Ateenyi stated that the account had been “hijacked” and was now being misused. He expressed concerns over the way the account, which has millions of followers, was being handled irresponsibly, though he did not specify the exact nature of the posts.

Ateenyi’s statement comes after several days of controversial posts that have sparked criticism and speculation online. These posts, characterized by erratic and inflammatory content, have raised doubts about whether they reflect General Muhoozi’s personal views or if someone else is behind them. In light of this, Dr. Ateenyi reassured the public that investigations are underway to track down those responsible for the hacking.

“We are working closely with cybersecurity experts to reclaim the account and ensure such incidents do not happen again,” he added. The allegations of hacking come amidst increased scrutiny of General Muhoozi’s social media presence, which has previously attracted attention due to his outspoken political and military remarks.
