Just In!! Mwesige Albert Kalisya Declares Bid To Run For Bwamba County MP Seat
Mwesige Albert Kalisya, who is widely known as TMK, has officially announced his decision to run for Member of Parliament for Bwamba County in the upcoming 2026–2031 term. He will be contesting as an independent candidate, and his campaign is already gaining attention and excitement across the district.
TMK is not a stranger to the people of Bwamba. He is a well-known and respected figure in the region. The name TMK stands for Tadeo Mukosi Kalisya, a tribute to his late father, showing his deep respect for family and tradition. Many people know him not only for his calm and humble personality, but also for his strong connection to the grassroots communities.
His campaign slogan, “Make Bwamba Great Again”, has started to inspire hope among voters. TMK is using this message to encourage the people to dream big and believe in real change. He also carries a powerful motto in the local Rwamba language: “Muntu Wahansi Muntu Wabantu”, which means “A person from the grassroots, a person for the people.” This shows that TMK wants to be a leader who truly understands and represents ordinary people.
TMK’s background makes him stand out from many other politicians. He is highly educated, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning and a Master’s degree in Physical Planning, both from Makerere University. This professional training gives him the skills to help plan better roads, towns, and services that will improve life for everyone in Bwamba County.
But his talents go far beyond the classroom. TMK is also a legendary local musician with more than 25 years in the music industry. He has produced six albums in the Rwamba language, with popular songs like Mwise Tubine, Bwamba, Ntunabugha, and Nesigiyewe. Through music, he has shared the culture, stories, and strength of the Bwamba people. His songs have united communities and inspired many.
Now, TMK wants to use all this experience to serve his people in Parliament. He is not looking for fame he wants to give back. He plans to focus on improving roads and infrastructure, creating jobs for young people, supporting farmers, and ensuring that health services are accessible to all. As an independent candidate, TMK says his loyalty is not to any political party, but only to the people of Bwamba.
With his rich mix of education, cultural influence, and deep community ties, TMK brings a fresh kind of leadership. He is offering not just promises, but a true connection to the people he hopes to represent.
As the 2026 elections approach, the people of Bwamba now have the chance to choose a leader who has been with them through music, development, and everyday life. Mwesige Albert Kalisya, or TMK, is ready to be that leader and to truly Make Bwamba Great Again.
