Mwesige Albert Kalisya, popularly known as TMK, has officially announced his intention to contest for the Bwamba County Member of Parliament seat in the upcoming 2026–2031 term. Running as an independent candidate, his announcement has stirred growing excitement across the district.

TMK is a well-recognized and respected personality in Bwamba. His full name, Tadeo Mukosi Kalisya, is a tribute to his late father—a reflection of his deep respect for family values and heritage. Known for his calm demeanor and humble approach, TMK has maintained a strong connection with grassroots communities over the years.

Under the slogan “Make Bwamba Great Again,” TMK’s campaign is centered on hope, transformation, and genuine leadership. He also embraces a powerful slogan in the local Rwamba language: “Muntu Wahansi Muntu Wabantu”—translated as “A person from the grassroots, a person for the people.” This message underscores his commitment to inclusive and people-centered representation.

TMK’s academic background is one of his key strengths. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning and a Master’s degree in Physical Planning, both from Makerere University. His education equips him with the professional expertise needed to address issues such as infrastructure development, urban planning, and service delivery in the region.

Aside from his academic and professional credentials, TMK is a celebrated artist with over 25 years in the local music industry. He has released six albums in the Rwamba language, featuring popular songs like Mwise Tubine, Bwamba, Ntunabugha, and Nesigiyewe. His music has played a significant role in preserving local culture, promoting unity, and inspiring generations.

Now stepping into politics, TMK is driven by a desire to serve—not for recognition, but to give back to the community that shaped him. His key priorities include improving road infrastructure, creating employment opportunities for youth, supporting farmers, and expanding access to quality healthcare. As an independent, he emphasizes that his allegiance lies with the people of Bwamba—not with any political party.

With his rare blend of education, cultural influence, and deep-rooted community connection, TMK offers a unique and refreshing leadership style. He brings not just promises, but a history of engagement with the people he aims to represent.
