JUST IN!! Top School Director Arrested For Locking Up 2 Children For Several Days Without Food Over 1.5m Fees
A troubling incident at Pamvil Primary School has led to the arrest of the school’s director, 46-year-old Ntalo Pamella, who is accused of locking two students in a classroom without food or water for several days. The incident occurred after the school closed for holidays on August 9, 2025.
According to police, Pamella allegedly refused to release the pupils because their parents had not paid an outstanding school fees balance of Shs 1,500,000. Despite repeated assurances from the parents that the fees would be settled before the next term, the director reportedly remained firm in her decision.
The situation escalated when Pamella allegedly demanded an additional Shs 20,000 for each day the children remained at the school. Concerned for their children’s well-being, the parents contacted the Child and Family Protection Unit (CFPU) at Nsangi.
Officers responded swiftly, but reports suggest Pamella continued to resist the release of the children. Police then filed a case of unlawful confinement and moved to rescue the pupils.
The children were eventually freed, and Pamella was arrested, along with two teachers who allegedly tried to interfere with the officers’ efforts.
The suspects are currently in police custody as statements are being gathered for further investigation.
The incident has shocked the local community and sparked public outrage, with many calling for stronger protections for children in schools and more transparent enforcement of school fees policies. Authorities have vowed to ensure justice for the victims.
