“Me & Bobi Wine Have Personal Issues, We Don’t See Eye To Eye” Eddy Kenzo Breaks His Silence On Long Enemity With The NUP President
Ugandan musician and presidential advisor on tourism, Eddy Kenzo, has acknowledged that he has unresolved personal issues with fellow artist and opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine. His comments have drawn attention because they touch both the entertainment industry and national politics.
In a recent interview, Kenzo clarified that his disagreements with Bobi Wine are not limited to professional competition in music. Instead, he described them as personal conflicts that have existed for years and continue to influence his views today.
Addressing his role as a presidential advisor, Kenzo said he would not recommend that President Yoweri Museveni grant Bobi Wine permission to perform on stage again. He argued that their personal issues, coupled with Bobi Wine’s political position, make it difficult for him to support such a move.
Kenzo further explained that if Bobi Wine were allowed to perform, he could use his music as a tool against the government. “Music can be powerful in politics,” Kenzo warned, suggesting that performances might provide the opposition leader with a platform to challenge those in power.
His remarks have sparked debate within both political and entertainment circles. Supporters of Kenzo argue that his concerns are valid given his position as a government advisor, while others believe personal disputes should not interfere with broader decisions affecting the music industry.
Despite the controversy, Kenzo stressed that his priority remains his advisory work and the promotion of Ugandan culture and tourism. He assured fans that his dedication to raising the profile of Ugandan music internationally has not changed.
The episode highlights the increasingly complex relationship between politics and the arts in Uganda. While Kenzo’s rift with Bobi Wine is now firmly in the public domain, he continues to balance his government role with his career as a leading figure in the country’s music scene.
