NRM Delegates from Kasese District have officially endorsed Mr. Calvin Echodu for the position of NRM Vice Chairperson for Eastern Uganda. This strong show of support happened during a warm and energetic consultative meeting that brought together both the youth and elders of the district. It was a meaningful gathering that highlighted unity, enthusiasm, and a shared desire for progress.

From the start of the meeting, it was clear that the people of Kasese were eager to engage with Mr. Echodu. The atmosphere was lively as delegates listened closely to his vision for Eastern Uganda and his commitment to building a stronger NRM. Many were inspired by his humble tone, clear message, and the fresh energy he brings to the party.

The young people in the room connected deeply with Mr. Echodu’s message. They believe he represents a new generation of leadership one that listens, understands their struggles, and is ready to act. His message of #NewEnergy sparked great excitement among them, giving hope for a more inclusive and dynamic future in the party.

Elders also stood firmly behind him, expressing their confidence in his leadership, his respect for party structures, and his ability to bring people together across generations and communities. The powerful unity between youth and elders made the meeting especially memorable. It became clear that Mr. Echodu is not just seeking a position; he is building a united movement.

A beautiful and symbolic moment occurred when the delegates gave Mr. Echodu a local name “Baluku.” This name, which holds cultural significance in Kasese, was a gesture of trust and acceptance. It meant that the people no longer saw him as an outsider, but as one of their own. Mr. Echodu was deeply moved and thanked the delegates sincerely, promising to carry the name with pride as he continues his journey of service.

He also shared his plans for Eastern Uganda, including building strong party structures, supporting youth and women, and driving grassroots development. His message was clear and powerful: real leadership means unity, action, and service to the people.

Notably, Mr. Echodu was joined by Mr. Umar Ebaat, a respected figure in the NRM and a former contender in Soroti City West Municipality. Mr. Ebaat recently stepped aside from the race in support of Mr. Echodu. He explained to the delegates in Kasese that he chose to withdraw because both he and Mr. Echodu share the same vision, values, and commitment to empowering communities. He expressed full confidence in Mr. Echodu’s leadership and pledged his continued support for the campaign.

Together, the team emphasized the need for collaboration, mutual support, and unity across districts. They reminded the delegates that progress is only possible when leaders work together toward shared goals.

The endorsement from Kasese is a major boost for Mr. Echodu’s campaign. It shows that his approach listening first, respecting local traditions, and uniting people is gaining real traction. With strong backing from both the young and the old, and with respected leaders like Mr. Ebaat by his side, the message of #NewEnergy is clearly spreading.

Kasese has made its position known: they are ready to build together. And with their support, Mr. Calvin Echodu continues to rise as a strong and trusted voice in the NRM, and a top contender for the Vice Chairperson role in Eastern Uganda. The journey is far from over and #NewEnergy is only growing stronger.
