NRM Delegates in Rwenzori Subregion Endorse Calvin Echodu for Vice Chairperson of Eastern Uganda
NRM delegates from the Rwenzori Subregion have officially endorsed Mr. David Calvin Echodu for the position of NRM Vice Chairperson for Eastern Uganda. The endorsement came during a meeting held at Tropical Gardens Hotel in Kyenjojo District, where Echodu met with party delegates from both Kyenjojo and Kyegegwa districts.
The meeting was attended by local leaders, including Nkonke Edward, the NRM District Chairperson for Kyenjojo, and Byaboona Wilson, the NRM Chairperson for Kyegegwa. Both leaders warmly welcomed Mr. Echodu and his team, showing strong support for his campaign.
During the gathering, a youth representative named Abwooli raised serious concerns about how young people are being left out of key decisions. He said the youth feel ignored and do not have enough chances to improve their lives. “We want to be included in decision-making and get opportunities to develop ourselves,” he told the group.
Nkonke Edward encouraged Mr. Echodu to lead with honesty and commitment. He said the people of Kyenjojo are watching closely and expect results. “If you want to lead us, you must work hard and serve the people,” he advised.
In his speech, Mr. Echodu thanked the delegates for their support and expressed deep appreciation for President Yoweri Museveni’s leadership, especially in bringing peace and development to Uganda. He promised to bring new energy and unity to the NRM party and to work closely with all members.
He called on all party mobilizers to be active and committed in their roles. Echodu also pledged to push for more training and support for NRM cadres across the region. He said he would advocate for strong NRM offices from the village to the district level, and help improve how they operate.
Mr. Echodu also talked about the importance of access to credit and promised to improve loan access, especially for young people and small business owners. He ended his speech by assuring delegates that he would return after the elections to celebrate their hard work and continue working together with them.
