A Ugandan national, Rajab Kaguli, has died in Dubai after spending several weeks receiving treatment at Cleveland Hospital, a high-end medical facility in the city. Reports indicate that Kaguli underwent five operations last month to address complications with his appendix and intestines.

Sources reveal that Kaguli had been suffering from severe constipation for weeks prior to his hospital admission. Doctors at Cleveland Hospital reportedly noted depression as a contributing factor and performed multiple surgeries to try and alleviate his condition.

Despite intensive medical care, Kaguli fell into a coma and passed away earlier this week. His sudden death has left friends and family in deep shock as they mourn the loss of a young man who battled serious health challenges far from home.

Medical experts explain that the surgeries were aimed at addressing issues with his appendix, but complications arose during the procedures. His intestinal problems, combined with underlying health concerns, contributed to the tragic outcome.

It remains unclear whether Kaguli’s body will be repatriated to Uganda for burial or interred in Dubai, as his religious beliefs may influence the decision. Families and community members are awaiting confirmation from the hospital and local authorities.

This unfortunate incident highlights the difficulties Ugandans face when seeking medical treatment abroad, particularly for complex health conditions. While many rely on overseas healthcare facilities for specialized care, the risks are significant and outcomes often uncertain.

Kaguli’s passing has sparked discussions on the importance of timely medical intervention and the need for support systems for Ugandans living abroad. Loved ones hope his story will raise awareness about the challenges patients and families face when navigating foreign medical systems.
