The Uganda Police Force has provided an update on the ongoing investigation into the tragic murder of the Mutaaga couple in Entebbe. Speaking to journalists on Monday, 15th September 2025, Police Spokesperson ACP Kituuma Rusoke clarified that the actual suspects in the case have not yet been identified. This statement comes after reports by the New Vision newspaper on 12th September 2025 suggesting otherwise. The police emphasized that the investigation remains active and ongoing.
ACP Kituuma explained that while certain individuals are being investigated as possible suspects, the police have not yet gathered conclusive evidence against anyone. “Once we have clear evidence, we will formally release the details of any suspects to the public,” he said, highlighting the police’s cautious approach to prevent wrongful accusations.
To encourage public assistance, the police have increased the reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects from 50 million shillings to 60 million shillings. Authorities have also shared the suspect’s photo and voice with the public, hoping someone will recognize them and provide crucial information.
