Athanas Matibo, a lawyer, businessman, and community leader, has officially announced his bid to run for Member of Parliament for Namisindwa County in the 2026 general elections. With the powerful message from Luke 1:37 “For nothing is impossible with God” Matibo is stepping forward with faith, experience, and a heart for service.

Matibo is not a stranger to the everyday struggles faced by the people of Namisindwa. Born and raised in a humble background, he understands the pain of walking long distances for school, the frustration of poor health services, the worry of unemployment, and the silence of leaders who forget the very people that voted them in. This is what drives him to stand for leadership to be a voice for the voiceless and a bridge between the people and real solutions.

He is well-educated, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Law, a Bachelor’s in Procurement and Logistics Management, and a Diploma in Bible Leadership (Theology). His academic journey shows that he values knowledge, discipline, and truth. But more than papers, Matibo has a heart for the people especially the youth, mothers, struggling farmers, and small business owners trying to survive in a tough economy.

In Kampala, he runs two successful companies: Mati Suppliers International SMC Ltd and Mati Loans (U) Ltd. Through these businesses, he has helped create jobs and supported families to grow economically. He believes that Namisindwa needs leaders who not only talk but have the capacity to deliver leaders who know how to turn ideas into real action.

“I am not coming to Parliament to fill a seat,” Matibo says. “I am coming to stand for the dreams of our people. I know what it feels like to be forgotten. I know the pain of poverty and the power of opportunity. I want to be that leader who listens, who shows up, and who delivers.”

He has promised to focus on better roads, clean water, youth empowerment, access to loans for small businesses, better schools, and working health centers. He also wants to bring transparency in leadership and fight corruption. He is running under the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) a party known for fighting for fairness, justice, and people-first leadership.

Matibo believes leadership is not about titles, but about responsibility. He says, “Trust me. I don’t just want to lead I want to serve with all my heart.”

With a blend of legal knowledge, business experience, spiritual grounding, and compassion for people, Athanas Matibo is asking for your vote. He is ready to represent Namisindwa County from 2026 to 2031 with commitment, integrity, and action.
