“Why Are These Fake Bomb Incidents Always on Roads I Frequently Use? They Are Plotting to Kill Me,” Museveni Orders Arrest of Top UPDF Officers
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has raised the alarm over a suspected plot to end his life, following a series of fake bomb incidents reported on roads he frequently uses. The President expressed deep concern, questioning why such threats consistently appear along his regular routes and at times he is known to travel. According to him, this pattern is too suspicious to ignore.
As a result, Museveni has ordered the immediate arrest of several senior officers in the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), whom he suspects may be involved in the plot. Earlier this week, reports confirmed the detention of two high-ranking officers over suspected subversive activities. However, sources now say that six more officers have also been arrested and are currently held at Mbuya Military Headquarters, the main UPDF base in Kampala.
The army spokesperson, Maj Gen Felix Kulayigye, confirmed the arrests but declined to disclose the names of those involved or provide specific details. He stated only that the officers had acted in ways that violated military rules and regulations.
Sources close to the matter revealed that Museveni has instructed Gen Damulira, the Director of Crime Intelligence, to take over the investigation and uncover everyone behind the suspected plot. The President believes the carefully timed and placed fake bomb threats indicate a deliberate plan to harm him, possibly from within his own security structure.
This development has sent shockwaves through the military and government circles. It also raises serious concerns about internal threats and loyalty within the ranks of Uganda’s armed forces.
As investigations continue, the Ugandan public waits for clarity and assurance that the President’s safety is secure and that those found responsible will be held accountable.
