In a remarkable turn of events, Roy Rugumayo, an education rights activist, and leader, has taken the New BOLD Vision campaign from a catchy slogan to a transformative force in Uganda.

Despite being disqualified from the Presidency of the Uganda National Students Association, Rugumayo and his campaign team have converted the New BOLD Vision into a vibrant youth outfit, poised to bring about significant change. This dynamic initiative, now transitioning into a non-governmental organization, seeks to address the critical gaps in education that hinder holistic citizen development in Uganda.

Recognizing the societal challenges stemming from the quality of citizens, The New BOLD Vision is gearing up to revolutionize education by instilling comprehensive knowledge in students and educators. The organization emphasizes the urgent need to improve citizens’ capacity in essential aspects such as health, sanitation, leadership, integrity, conflict resolution, climate change, global politics, and more.

With a focus on ideological grounding and transformation, The New BOLD Vision aims to produce citizens committed to Africa’s progress and opposed to divisive identities.Leadership, deemed pivotal to societal nature, is at the forefront of The New BOLD Vision’s agenda. The organization advocates for widespread leadership training in schools and universities, fostering a generation ideologically anchored towards transformation and unity.

The comprehensive knowledge and skills required for holistic citizenship will be integrated into academic pursuits, alongside subjects like mathematics, science, and history. The organization is determined to teach patriotism, pan-Africanism, black excellence, peace, and transformative leadership, creating a well-rounded citizen for Africa’s bold future. The New BOLD Vision is set to launch education support services to enable students and educators to embrace comprehensive growth, nurturing diverse skills, values, and attitudes while promoting self-sufficiency.

Furthermore, the organization is spearheading a comprehensive school health and safety program targeting prevalent issues such as malaria, HIV/AIDS, sickle cell disease, sanitation, drug abuse, and more. With an intention to cultivate good health habits and a culture of prevention, the program will equip students and school managements with vital skills, including fire management.

Recognizing the importance of peace in human development, The New BOLD Vision is committed to instilling a mindset of peace in academic institutions and communities. The organization aims to address conflicts and promote peaceful coexistence through educational initiatives.

The steering committee, led by President Rugumayo Roy, includes key positions such as Deputy President Lenia Charity, National Coordinator Jackson Odida, and other dedicated individuals in charge of finance, collaborations, communications, health and safety, climate change education, ethics, and integrity, programs, legal compliance, and education diversity.

As The New BOLD Vision unfolds its ambitious plans, it stands poised to create a holistic citizenry in Uganda—individuals motivated to actively participate in the political, social, and economic advancement of the nation and, by extension, the continent. This organization signals a bold step towards building the Africa we all aspire to see.
