The National Unity Platform (NUP) is set to finalize its list of parliamentary flag bearers for the upcoming elections, but Mulengera News has obtained a leaked report revealing which aspirants have secured the party ticket and who has been left out. The list has undergone several revisions, reflecting intense deliberations among the party’s senior leadership.
Among the surprises, Medard Ssegona was dropped at the last minute following discussions between Mathias Walukagga and Emmanuel Matovu Magoola. In Kampala, Shamim Malende retains the Woman MP slot, while Zahara Luyirika returns to Makindye East, replacing Derrick Nyeko, the incumbent since 2021.
In Mukono, Woman MP Anifa Nabukeera remains on the list, but Busiro North’s Paul Nsubuga has been excluded. Party leaders are still debating whether Ronald Semaganda or Kastar Bukenya will receive the flag for that constituency. Rubaga South will see..TO READ MORE, TAP HERE
