“Honestly, I Didn’t Want To Contest Again, I Wanted To Give Others Chance But My People Have Begged Me To Stay” Says Hon Mukasa Mbidde
Hon. Mukasa Mbidde has announced that he will once again contest for the position of Member of Parliament for Buwekula County. The veteran politician revealed that he had previously stepped aside to focus on personal and professional matters but has returned following strong encouragement from his constituents.
Speaking to residents of Buwekula County, Mbidde said, “I stopped contesting and have been about my business, but since you people are on my neck telling me to contest, I have allowed and will come as the MP of Buwekula County.”
He highlighted that although he has been serving in the East African Parliament, the persistent call from his home constituency was too strong to ignore. “I have been in the East African Parliament, but since at home you want me, it’s well—I will come,” he reassured residents.
Mbidde expressed gratitude to the people of Buwekula County for their continued support and confidence in his leadership. He emphasized that his decision to run is not driven by personal ambition but by a desire to serve the community that has consistently stood by him.
The announcement has been met with enthusiasm among residents, who view Mbidde as a dedicated leader with a proven track record. Many believe his experience at both national and regional levels equips him to represent their interests effectively.
