Norbert Mao, the President of the Democratic Party (DP) and Uganda’s Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, has made a strong statement about his party’s enduring strength, claiming that DP is the most resilient political party in Uganda. Mao emphasized that DP has the unique ability to survive the loss of its founding leader, comparing it to other political parties, such as the National Unity Platform (NUP) and the National Resistance Movement (NRM), which he believes would struggle to continue without their leaders.
