I’m A Candle That Fears No Darkness!! Bobi Wine’s Blue Eyed Girl Sauda Madada Tells NUP Supporters Attacking Her For Contesting As An Independent
Sauda Madada, a prominent member of the National Unity Platform (NUP) and close confidant of Bobi Wine, has spoken out firmly after drawing sharp criticism from supporters. Comparing herself to a candle that fears no darkness, she vowed to keep shining and pursuing her mission, even without holding the official party ticket.
The storm began when Madada was denied the NUP flag for the Kampala Central Woman Lord Councillor seat. Soon after, many party loyalists turned their backs on her, accusing her of betrayal for announcing her bid as an independent candidate. Despite being branded a misfit, Madada has refused to bow to pressure, stressing that intimidation will not silence her.
She emphasized that her loyalty to both NUP and its president, Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine), remains unwavering. Running as an independent, she argued, should not be mistaken as abandoning the struggle. Instead, she described herself as “a daughter of the liberation struggle” who still upholds the values and mission of the party.
The decision to deny her the ticket took a heavy toll on Madada. Sources close to her disclosed that she even collapsed upon hearing that she would not be considered for the party flag. Still, what was meant to break her spirit only strengthened her resolve to fight harder and demonstrate her value to the people she wishes to serve.
Insiders allege that the party flag was instead handed to Eva Kyazike, whose close ties to Bobi Wine’s family played a decisive role. Reports claim that Kyazike is related to the late mother of the NUP president and has long been associated with Chairman Nyanzi, particularly during the 2021 campaigns. This connection, according to whispers within the party, influenced the leadership’s final choice.
Feeling overlooked, Madada opted to take her own course in politics. She declared her intention to run as an independent, insisting that true leadership comes from the people rather than party endorsements. With confidence, she assured supporters, “Even without NUP’s flag, I will still make it,” underlining her faith in the voters.
Though some NUP supporters continue to criticize her decision, Madada remains resolute. She urged her detractors to abandon personal attacks and instead focus on strengthening unity within the opposition. Through her bold words and determination, she has made it clear that she will not retreat—ready to confront any darkness that stands in her way.
