“I’m Not Ashamed to Say I’ll Back Museveni” Norbert Mao Boldly Declares
Democratic Party (DP) President-General Norbert Mao has publicly declared his support for President Yoweri Museveni in the upcoming 2026 elections. Speaking just before the presidential nominations, Mao stated that he is neither “ashamed nor afraid” to back the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate.
In an interview with the Nile Post, Mao made it clear that this decision is a personal one, although the DP will eventually issue an official statement. “The party will make a statement, but as for me, Mao, I will support President Museveni in the next election.
