Is Leadership Turning Into A Hereditary System? Deceased Minister Sarah Mateke’s Sister Selected To Replace Mateke’s Kisoro MP Seat

Ms Ruth Nyiraneza, sister of the late Minister for Defence Sarah Mateke has been selected by the Kisoro District Council to replace the deceased Kisoro woman MP.

Mr. John Kamara, Bufimbira North MP introduced the late MP’s sister during the Kisoro District Council session at the late MP’s ancestral home in Bugahe Village in Kisoro District.

According to Daily Monitor report on Thursday, September 12, 2024, Mateke had a heart attack in her home on Saturday and she was later pronounced dead at Mengo Hospital where she was taken for treatment.

Mr. Amos the district council speaker presided over the session and supported decision to name the stadium under construction in Saaza grounds after the late Woman MP Mateke.

The council unanimously supported the the decision to replace the late Kisoro MP with her sister Ruth Nyiraneza.

Mr. Sam Kajojo, the Kanungu District chairperson highlighted that it was his desire that the 1000 students under the late MP scholarship will continue to get support from the Metropolitan International University.
