“Now Pay On His Behalf” Three Remanded For Helping Nameere’s Husband Escape After Attack That Left Full Figure’s Face Beyond Recognition

Three individuals, including the Security Manager of Mei-Lin International Hotel, have been remanded to Luzira Prison for allegedly assisting Kennedy Nsubuga—the husband of former Presidential Advisor Justine Nameere—in escaping after he attacked Presidential Advisor Jennifer Nakangubi, popularly known as Full Figure.
The case drew nationwide attention after a viral video captured Nakangubi being violently assaulted on a city street. The footage shocked many Ugandans, showing her face swollen and battered as unidentified assailants beat her before fleeing in a nearby vehicle. The attack raised serious concerns about the safety of public figures.
Police investigations traced Nsubuga and Nameere to Mei-Lin International Hotel on Macknon Road, Nakasero. A team led by CID Deputy Commander Noreen Akello conducted a search of the premises, but hotel staff claimed they were unaware of Nsubuga’s whereabouts. Hotel records also indicated that Nameere had checked out without specifying when she would return.
Further inquiries identified three people allegedly involved in helping Nsubuga evade arrest: Juma Kakooza, the hotel’s Security Manager; Jessy Lugeya, an electrical engineer; and James Asiimwe, a resident of Kira Municipality. All three were charged as accessories after the fact.
Court documents state that on September 3, 2025, at the hotel, the accused knowingly assisted Nsubuga, who was wanted for robbery and assault. During their court appearance, all three pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The magistrate remanded the suspects to Luzira Prison and scheduled the next hearing for October 3, 2025. Authorities continue to investigate and search for others believed to have helped Nsubuga, vowing that everyone involved will face justice.
The case has sparked public outrage, raising concerns about security and the potential role of insiders in aiding criminals. Many Ugandans are closely following the investigation, demanding accountability and justice for the brutal attack on Full Figure.
