Makindye Division Mayor Ali Kasirye Mulyanyama has stood before the party authorities, a sense of betrayal etched across his face. In the intricate web of Ugandan politics, the National Unity Platform (NUP), led by Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, faced internal strife that Mulyanyama was determined to address, a reliable source has told the Kampala Eye.

The power play within NUP escalated when Bobi Wine held a United Forces of Change press conference with former FDC leader Kizza Besigye, conspicuously devoid of prominent NUP leaders. Speculation arose, leaving Ugandans questioning the unity within the party.

According to our reliable source, In today’s meeting, Mulyanyama voiced his grievances, questioning the party’s focus on opposition causes and its unwavering support for Lukwago.Mulyanyama reminded Bobi Wine how people In the United Forces of Change are the same people who fought him in 2021when he was aspiring for Presidency.

The Vocal Mulyanyama also raised a concern how NUP supporters are yearning to have a Pro NUP Lord Mayor come 2026. According to Mulyanyama, A Lord Mayor who aligns with NUP would easily mobilize masses in Kampala to reject the government’s ‘bad rule’ and unfair policies unlike Lukwago whom he termed as a ‘crying’ baby.He wondered why Lord Mayor Lukwago is decrying the City potholes yet he has been in the Lord Mayoral position for 15 years but literally did nothing.

According to a trusted source that attended this a hushed meeting, Mulyanyama shared a sage piece of advice with the NUP frontman. “Bobi,” he began, “our party thrives on the spirit of grooming, seeking change, and fostering activism. Instead of aligning with self-centered politicians, let’s invest in the youth—the backbone of our movement.”The source added that the charismatic Mulyanyama’s words resonated with the room, emphasizing the importance of nurturing young NUP leaders who embodied the core values of the party.

“Mulyanyama envisioned a future where these emerging leaders would carry the torch of change with unwavering dedication. “Grooming the next generation is our legacy,” he continued, “and it ensures that the roots of our movement run deep.” The Source that Preferred Anonymity Revealed.

The Source also reported that Mulyanyama went further, challenging the party’s leadership on the absence of efforts to groom emerging politicians like Musiri David, who aspires to replace Allan Ssewanyana in the Makindye West MP race and other famous NUP activists. The mayor questioned why Bobi Wine wasn’t investing in the development of young leaders, raising concerns about the party’s future trajectory.

Undeterred, Mulyanyama, invoking “Ishah Allah,” has vowed to wage the war declared against him. The stage is set for a political showdown within NUP, with divisions becoming increasingly apparent.
