Kampala, Uganda – In a move that is set to shake up the political landscape of Nansana Municipality, National Unity Platform (NUP) MP aspirant Sserunkuma John Bosco, alias Kaana Kambata, has thrown his hat into the ring for the 2026 elections.

Kaana Kambata, a seasoned activist and staunch supporter of the opposition cause, has been tapped by the NUP party to take on incumbent MP Hon Wakayima, who has been criticized for his silence and inaction since joining parliament.

“We believe Kaana Kambata has what it takes to be an effective legislator,” said a senior NUP official.

“His experience as an activist has equipped him with the skills to navigate the complexities of Ugandan politics and advocate for the rights of his people.”

Kaana Kambata’s entry into the political fray has been met with excitement from Nansana residents, who have grown disillusioned with Hon Wakayima’s lack of representation.

“We need someone who will speak for us, who will fight for our rights,” said one resident.

“Kaana Kambata is that person.”

Kaana Kambata’s activist background has not been without its challenges. He has been arrested and tortured numerous times by security forces for his vocal opposition to the government. However, this has only strengthened his resolve.

“I will not be silenced,” Kaana Kambata declared.

“I will continue to fight for what is right, for justice and equality. I am ready to take on the challenges of being an MP and ensure that Nansana Municipality is represented with dignity and integrity.”

The NUP party’s support for Kaana Kambata underscores his potential as a legislator. “We believe in Kaana Kambata’s ability to deliver,” said the NUP official.

“He has the passion, the energy, and the commitment to make a real difference in Nansana Municipality.”

As the 2026 elections approach, Kaana Kambata’s candidacy presents a unique opportunity for Nansana Municipality to break free from ineffective representation. Residents are eagerly awaiting the chance to cast their ballots and bring about a new dawn for their community.
