Tamale Mirundi has been announced dead.Among the first to confirm his passing was his close friend and fellow political commentator, Frank Gashumba.Mirundi had been placed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in July after being admitted to Kisubi Hospital. However, on July 23, Mirundi Junior revealed that his father was being tube-fed and had not spoken since his admission to the ICU.

WHAT HAPPENED BEFORE HIS DEATH?

In a shocking and unprecedented incident reported by The Insider Uganda, the hospital room of the dead senior journalist Joseph Tamale Mirundi had transformed into a battleground, with ancestor spirits and doctors clashing over his treatment.

The veteran journalist, admitted to Kisubi Hospital for two weeks, has been fighting for his life while also allegedly fending off his ancestor spirits demanding to take him for their own treatment.

This assignment was given to his closest son, Tamale Mirundi Jr, who reached out to his father’s closest journalist Sir Simon Muyaanga Lutaaya of the SML news and Spy Uganda’s CEO Andrew Irumba Katusabe.

The duo immediately took the express highway so they could arrive in record time, and in 45 minutes the above mentioned journalists were at Kisubi Hospital, along Entebbe road, where Joseph Tamale Mirundi has been admitted for two weeks now, battling for his life. As soon as they arrived, his son Tamale Jr who was driving behind them, also arrived.

According to the deceased Tamale Mirundi, he spent the entire night “defending” the hospital from his spirits, which wanted to burn the facility and take him away.  Tamale, in his usual antics, started telling the journalists how he spent the whole night “defending” the hospital over his spirits which wanted to burn the hospital demanding to take their son and ‘treat’ him themselves since they (spirits) are the ones who know what exactly is disturbing him!

“I told these people (Kibuli hospital) to treat their part then leave the other to my Jajjas, they refused to listen, last night my Jajjas came demanding for my release from here, I fought them the whole night, I fell off the bed 4 times while fighting until I overpowered them. But I told these people not to tamper with what they don’t know,” Tamale narrated in Luganda language.

His wife, Florence Namayanja, confirmed this extraordinary claim, stating that he fell off the bed four times during the ordeal.

“Tamale fell down 4 times the previous night, now the doctors want to do a scan on him and see whether he was affected internally,” she said.

This corroborates Tamale’s submission to the journalists earlier.Tamale’s elder brother, Charles, and heir, also corroborated the story, revealing a deeper spiritual struggle.

The Insider Uganda reports that the ancestor spirits are determined to take Tamale for their own treatment, sparking a fierce battle with the doctors.Despite this unusual situation, Kisubi Hospital doctors have made significant progress in Tamale’s treatment, and he has shown notable improvement.

Spy Chief Irumba noted on his Facebook post, “Mirundi has greatly improved, according to doctors and attendants, and according to how he was admitted. We were received by his wife Florence Namayanja, the mother to Tamale Mirundi Jr. We wish him a quick recovery, zidemu okuvuga.”

RIP THE SENIOR TAMALE MIRUNDI
