A tragic incident in Kyengera Town Council, Wakiso District, has left the community in shock after an 18-year-old girl was killed during a heated argument at her workplace. The fight happened on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at around 5:00 p.m., at Dema Bakery in Rabai Estate.

Police have identified the suspect as Arinda Swabura, who is accused of murdering her co-worker, 18-year-old Anyima Grace. Reports indicate that the two young women got into an argument over a charcoal stove they were sharing. The situation reportedly began when Swabura removed Grace’s saucepan so she could boil water first. The disagreement quickly escalated into a fight.

According to witnesses, during the confrontation, Swabura allegedly stabbed Grace in the back. Their colleagues rushed to take Grace to the hospital, but she tragically died from her injuries before receiving treatment.

When police officers arrived at the scene, they found Grace’s body with a deep cut wound on her left upper back. A green-handled knife, believed to have been used in the attack and stained with blood, was discovered nearby. Officers also observed clear signs of a struggle at the bakery.

The suspect is now being held in custody at Nsangi Police Division as investigations continue.
