Total Rubbish!! Rebecca Kadaga Breaks Silence On Being Disqualified From The CEC Race, Vows To Give Opponent Sleepless Nights
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Community Affairs, Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga, has rejected reports claiming she has been disqualified from the race for Second Vice Chairperson Women in the NRM Central Executive Committee (CEC).
A list circulating online alleged that several contestants, including Kadaga, had been removed by the NRM National Executive Committee. The claims suggested that Kadaga, the Kamuli Woman MP, had been disqualified for using sectarian language that could harm party unity. However, Kadaga laughed off the allegations, describing them as fake, malicious, and intended to mislead her supporters.
Speaking to Watchdog News, the former Speaker of Parliament called the rumors “absolute rubbish.” She expressed surprise that political rivals on social media were the first to circulate the claims before she was officially informed, calling it suspicious. Kadaga argued that such tactics are part of a wider misinformation campaign aimed at weakening her position in the race.
She assured delegates that she remains a candidate and has no plans to step aside. Kadaga stressed that her opponents are wasting time spreading lies instead of convincing voters and promised her team would respond decisively to every attempt to mislead her supporters.
In a sharp message to her rivals, Kadaga urged them to focus on winning votes among delegates rather than using dirty tricks. She emphasized that she is fully prepared for the challenge ahead and vowed to make her opponents work hard as the contest continues.
Kadaga, who currently serves as the Vice Chairperson Women, is facing off against long-time rival Speaker of Parliament Anita Among. While Among has built her campaign on strengthening the party, Kadaga insists her spotless record and proven experience are enough reasons for the party to continue trusting her with the position. The heated rivalry has set the stage for a tough race, with Kadaga warning that those who underestimate her will surely have sleepless nights.
