WE DON’T TRUST HIM!! NRM CEC kicks Out EC Boss Tanga Odoi From Over Seeing The Youth Elections

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has decided to remove Dr. Tanga Odoi from managing the upcoming Youth elections. The move follows controversy over his son’s recent win, which was later nullified by the tribunal. Party leaders cited concerns over conflicts of interest and the credibility of the youth polls, prompting internal pressure for a change in leadership.

During its first meeting of the fifth Central Executive Committee (CEC) on September 13, 2025, the party focused on enhancing leadership accountability and ensuring election integrity. The committee announced that voting for Youth and Entrepreneurial elections will take place on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the district level. Candidates will receive the voter register early, and security agencies will be fully involved to guarantee transparency.

Dr. Odoi will be replaced by the Deputy Chairperson of the NRM Electoral Commission, Hon. Jachan Omach, along with other commissioners, who will oversee the elections. This leadership reshuffle is part of the party’s effort to restore trust and fairness in the electoral process.

In addition, the CEC assigned an ad hoc committee, led by top officials including Rt. Hon. Anita Among, Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong, and Al Hajji Hassan Basajjabalaba, to review the pay and allowances for lower-level leaders. The committee is expected to report back within a month, potentially resulting in increased remuneration for many junior leaders.

The decisions also signal the party’s commitment to accountability and transparency. By restructuring the electoral management and reviewing leadership benefits, the NRM aims to strengthen internal processes and improve morale among its grassroots members.

The upcoming elections are now expected to be more closely monitored and fairer, with the new electoral team in place. NRM leaders hope these measures will prevent controversies similar to those that surrounded Dr. Odoi’s son’s election victory.

Overall, the recent CEC resolutions reflect the NRM’s focus on credible elections, fair representation, and rewarding diligent leadership at all levels. The party’s actions demonstrate a proactive approach to maintaining integrity and trust within its structures.
