Makerere University (MUK) has been rocked by a scandal after a senior lecturer, Dr. Mugisha, was caught in a compromising situation with his student, Lydia Nambi. The two were allegedly involved in a secret romantic affair, which came to light when they were caught red-handed in an intimate moment on campus.

According to sources, the affair had been going on for months, but things took a dramatic turn when Lydia’s boyfriend, also a student at the university, grew suspicious of her closeness to Dr. Mugisha. Determined to uncover the truth, he reportedly set a trap with the help of friends. On the fateful evening, the group followed Lydia to a secluded office, only to find her locked in a passionate embrace with the lecturer.

Chaos erupted as the furious boyfriend confronted the two lovers, causing a commotion that attracted other students and campus security. Eyewitnesses say Dr. Mugisha, clearly embarrassed, attempted to deny the allegations, but Lydia’s boyfriend presented damning evidence, including intimate messages exchanged between the two.

The scandal has sparked outrage among students and faculty members, with many questioning the ethical conduct of lecturers engaging in relationships with students. While some argue that Lydia, an adult, was in a consensual relationship, others insist that Dr. Mugisha abused his position of power.

Following the incident, the university administration has launched an investigation. If found guilty of misconduct, Dr. Mugisha could face serious disciplinary action, including dismissal, while Lydia may also face consequences for her involvement.
