Ugandan singer Douglas Mayanja, popularly known as Weasel, has shared an update following a shocking incident in which he was struck by his wife’s car. The celebrated artist—renowned for his contributions to Uganda’s music industry—was rushed to Nsambya Hospital after the accident, which reportedly took place outside Chans Bar in Munyonyo, Kampala.

According to eyewitness reports, the vehicle, driven by Weasel’s wife, Sandra Tete, hit him before fleeing the scene. A video circulating on social media appears to show the moment of impact, sparking outrage online. Many Ugandans demanded Tete’s arrest, and police later confirmed she had been detained and taken to Kabalagala Police Station for questioning.

Despite sustaining both physical and emotional strain from the incident, Weasel reassured fans that he is recovering. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he posted a heartfelt message of gratitude:

“A Heartfelt Thank You from yours truly. To our dear friends, family, and fans, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for the outpouring of love and well-wishes following my recent accident. Despite the challenges, my family and I are doing well.”

The case has drawn intense public attention, not only for the shocking circumstances but also because the vehicle fled after the collision. As investigations continue and Tete remains in custody, questions linger over what exactly transpired that night.

For now, fans are relieved to see Weasel in good spirits and on the road to recovery. The incident has also reignited conversations in Uganda about road safety, responsibility, and accountability.
