SAD NEWS!! Many Lives Lost After Deadly Road Accident In Buikwe District
A tragic road accident near Nkokonjeru Center in Buikwe District has claimed the lives of three individuals, as confirmed by the police. The crash occurred on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at approximately 9:40 PM along the Kisoga-Nkokonjeru Road.
The victims have been identified as Olaki Samson, a passenger on a bus, and Nasali Emily and Carol, both passengers in a Toyota Sienta. According to SSP Patrick Onyango, the incident began when a bus, registered as UAL 770L, was traveling from Kisoga to Nkokonjeru and collided with a parked Canter truck (UAG 723G).
Following the collision with the truck, the bus driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle. The bus swerved into the path of an oncoming Toyota Sienta (UBK 901Z), heading toward Kisoga. The head-on collision that followed resulted in the immediate deaths of the three individuals.
Police have cited an obstacle on the road as the likely cause of the crash. A team from Mukono Police Division visited the scene, taking measurements and creating a rough sketch of the crash site. The involved vehicles were later towed to the Kisoga police yard for further investigation.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to Kawolo Hospital for post-mortem examinations.
Authorities also noted that the drivers involved in the crash remain at large, and investigations are still underway.
This devastating accident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of road travel, particularly on busy or poorly maintained roads. Residents and motorists are urged to exercise caution, drive responsibly, and report any obstacles on the road to help ensure the safety of all travelers.
