The Uganda Police Force has issued a stern warning to musicians, accusing them of inciting gang-related violence that has turned public events into battlegrounds. This escalation has disrupted public order, prompting a firm response from law enforcement.

Kituuma Rusoke, the Police Spokesperson, delivered a direct and unambiguous statement condemning the actions of gangs associated with artists Alien Skin and Pallaso. Rusoke highlighted the destructive behavior tied to these groups, which has transformed entertainment events into scenes of chaos.

“These musicians are creating gangs to intimidate and provoke one another, leading to disorder and widespread unrest,” Rusoke declared. “This conduct is unacceptable, and we intend to hold everyone responsible for their actions.”

The police cited recent incidents to underscore the gravity of the issue. At the Mpele concert, violence erupted when members of Alien Skin’s gang allegedly assaulted Pallaso on stage. The chaos escalated as the gang turned on the audience, causing panic and further disruption.

In retaliation, Pallaso and his entourage launched a counterattack just days later. On Thursday, they invaded Alien Skin’s residence in Makindye, vandalizing property while Alien Skin sought refuge by climbing onto a rooftop. This series of confrontations has alarmed authorities, particularly because the violence has begun to affect innocent bystanders.

“These actions are no longer confined to the individuals involved; they are endangering the safety of ordinary citizens,” Rusoke stated emphatically. “We cannot and will not permit this to continue.”

The police have vowed to intervene decisively, ensuring that both artists and their affiliated groups are held accountable for their roles in escalating the violence. Authorities aim to restore peace and protect the public from further harm while sending a clear message that such behavior will not be tolerated.
