Is He Really A True Pastor? Pastor Bugingo’s Evil Prayer For People To Run Mad And Die Angers Ugandans – Call For Action To Boycott His Church

Members of the born-again community are urging Pastor Aloysius Bugingo of House of Prayer Ministries International to take a step back from his duties. This comes after a recent prayer sparked widespread criticism and controversy.

During a recent sermon, Pastor Bugingo made a shocking prayer, asking for severe consequences for those who have criticised him on social media or commented negatively about his delayed church construction project.

In a video making rounds on social media, Bujingo is seen praying asking God to send accidents, death, suicide, confusion to his enemies. Social media is a wash of people questioning his understanding of the bible and what he really preaches to his followers at Canaan land.

He called for dire outcomes, including death and madness, for his critics. His words included pleas for those who wish him harm to “perish in accidents” or “drown in lakes,” which many found alarming and inappropriate for someone in his position.

Bishop Nathan Ibrahim Turyagenda from Mbarara’s Day Star Cathedral was one of the first to respond. He expressed concern that Pastor Bugingo might be emotionally and physically exhausted, suggesting that he take some time off to recover. Bishop Ibrahim said, “We all get tired because we are human beings. When you are tired, you rest.” He even recommended that the pastor take a trip abroad to recharge, pointing out that there are other pastors who can lead in his absence.

The bishop stressed the importance of forgiveness over anger, using Jesus Christ’s example of forgiving those who wronged him. Bishop Ibrahim encouraged Pastor Bugingo to pray for forgiveness instead of wishing harm on others.

The backlash against Pastor Bugingo’s prayer has sparked discussions about the mental health of religious leaders. Many believe that the pressures of ministry can lead to burnout, causing leaders to express themselves in ways that do not reflect their teachings or values.

There is a growing belief that Pastor Bugingo should consider taking a sabbatical. This time away could allow him to reflect on his actions and regain his emotional balance. Supporters argue that stepping back could be beneficial not only for him but also for his congregation, creating an environment of healing and understanding.

Bujingo’s prayer of death highlights the need for some theological training for men of God before they start pastoral work as it had been in 2018 suggested by the Late Minister of ethics Father Simon Lokodo who claimed the calling to serve the Lord has eroded as anyone would wake up and set up a church without being accountable to anyone.

But several pastors including Bujingo fought this proposal and even threatened to withdraw their support for Museveni. In return Museveni also assured them that the proposal would be shelved for some time as he continues to study it.
