Fred Enanga Dropped As Uganda Police Spokesperson Days After Museveni’s Meeting With New IGP Byakagaba – See Why Enanga Was Put Aside And His Next Job

New Inspector General of Police Abbas Byakagaba in a major police reshuffle has dropped Afande Fred Enanga as police Spokesperson and replaced him with ACP Rusooke Kituuma as the force’s mouthpiece.

SCP Fred Enanga who has been serving as the police’s spokesperson since 2018 after taking over from Emiriano Kayima is now deputy Director of Interpol.In other changes, Richard Echega has been appointed Kampala Metropolitan Commander.

ACP Twishime Gerald now Deputy KMP Commander, SSP Seguya now RPC KMP North, SSP Nanoka now KMP North. Ziwede now CP Curriculum while SCP Steven Tanui who has been the KMP Commander is now Deputy Director Fire, SPC Nanding is now commandant PSU, CP Kibwika is now HRM.

Nyabongo sent to Oil and Gas, ACP Mastura sent to Tourism and Muheire sent to Barracks.Consequently, Enanga has been taken to Interpol as the deputy director.

Having served in various police departments including lands, Enanga was first appointed as spokesperson in 2014 to replace Judith Nabakooba by Gen Kale Kayihura. He would later be dropped and Emilian Kayima appointed the new spokesperson.

However, in 2019, John Martins Okoth Ochola reappointed Enanga as police spokesperson and has since then never looked back. He is credited for defending the police even during hard times .

Despite the nature of his job that on many occasions pits him against the public as he defends police, Enanga has been a darling to many, including opposition politicians.

Fred Enanga is a Ugandan senior commander of Police, public servant, and economist by profession. He is the current Senior Commissioner of the Ugandan Police Force and also the Police Spokesperson.

Fred Enanga was born on 23rd June to a family of ten and grew up in Kampala with his parents. Five of them are living; two boys and three girls as of today. His ancestral home is in Apac District, Ayago village in Akokoro sub-county, Northern Region of Uganda.

A Luo by ethnicity, Enanga was very playful and stubborn during his childhood days. Enanga’s father always encouraged him to study very hard and become a pilot. That was alongside seeing his son become a doctor, after making him study medicine.

However, Enanga did not perform well in sciences at senior four mainly due to insurgencies in Northern Uganda. He attained a second grade and instead enrolled for an art combination ending up as an economist.

Fred Enanga first went to Peter Piper Nursery School and then Mugwanya Preparatory School from Primary one to Primary four. He then moved to St Savio where he sat for his Primary Leaving Examinations.

Afterwards, Enanga joined Lango College for his O’ Level education in the boarding section, followed by Kololo SSS.He then went to Kitante Hill where he sat for his A’ Level examinations.

Enanga then joined Makerere University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences majoring in Economics.
