St. Mary’s College Mayenze, a renowned institution in Uganda, has unveiled an innovative bursary program designed to support gifted and high-achieving students who aspire to pursue quality secondary education. This initiative aims to provide substantial financial relief to talented learners, allowing them to continue their studies without the burden of tuition fees. The bursary offers a 50% reduction in tuition fees for both academic excellence and exceptional sporting achievements.

This opportunity is open to students who have excelled in the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) with aggregates between 4 and 14, offering them a pathway to secondary education at an affordable cost. The program is inclusive of both O-Level and A-Level students, providing a broad scope of access for learners from diverse backgrounds across the country.

Additionally, the bursary extends beyond academics. St. Mary’s College Mayenze recognizes the value of extracurricular activities, particularly in sports. Students who demonstrate outstanding abilities in football, netball, or leg ball are eligible for the same fee reduction, acknowledging the importance of physical discipline and teamwork in personal development. This holistic approach to education aims to nurture well-rounded individuals.

The fee structure for the bursary scheme is designed to make education more affordable. Day students in Senior One to Senior Four will pay UGX 260,000, while those in Senior Five and Six will pay UGX 275,000. Boarding students will pay UGX 525,000 across all levels, all of which are significantly lower than the standard tuition fees.

St. Mary’s College Mayenze is widely recognized for its commitment to discipline, academic excellence, and overall character development. The school’s curriculum emphasizes the cultivation of critical thinking, practical life skills, and ethical values, preparing students for both academic and real-world challenges.

This program opens doors for students who might otherwise have been unable to afford a quality education, empowering them to achieve their dreams.

In launching this forward-thinking bursary scheme, St. Mary’s College Mayenze solidifies its reputation as an institution dedicated to nurturing the leaders, scholars, and athletes of tomorrow.
