Athanas Matibo, a well-known lawyer, businessman, and passionate community servant, has officially announced his candidacy for Member of Parliament for Namisindwa County in the 2026 general elections. Standing firm on the scripture from Luke 1:37 — “For nothing is impossible with God” — Matibo enters the race with faith, proven leadership, and a heart fully committed to the people.

Raised in a humble background, Matibo deeply understands the daily struggles faced by many in Namisindwa. He knows the long walks to school, the pain of inadequate healthcare, the stress of unemployment, and the disappointment that comes when elected leaders abandon their promises. These lived experiences are what inspire him to step forward — to be the voice of the people and a champion for practical change.

Matibo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law, a second Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Logistics Management, and a Diploma in Bible Leadership (Theology). These qualifications reflect his belief in discipline, education, and servant leadership. But more than credentials, Matibo brings compassion and a listening ear — especially for the youth, mothers, farmers, and small business owners trying to navigate tough economic times.

He is also a successful entrepreneur, running two companies in Kampala: Mati Suppliers International SMC Ltd and Mati Loans (U) Ltd. These businesses have not only created jobs but also helped many families grow financially. Matibo believes that real leaders don’t just make promises — they produce results.

“I’m not coming to Parliament just to warm a seat,” Matibo declares. “I’m coming to fight for the dreams of our people. I know the pain of being forgotten, and I know how powerful opportunity can be. I want to be a leader who listens, acts, and brings change you can see.”

His campaign focuses on key issues: improving roads, ensuring access to clean water, empowering youth, supporting small businesses through affordable loans, improving schools, and upgrading health facilities. He also pledges to fight corruption and ensure transparency in public service.

Matibo is running under the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), a party respected for its values of justice, fairness, and people-centered leadership.

“Leadership is not about being served — it’s about serving,” he says. “I don’t just want to lead Namisindwa. I want to serve every single person with dedication, honesty, and action.”

With his strong legal background, business success, spiritual foundation, and genuine care for people, Athanas Matibo is ready to represent Namisindwa County from 2026 to 2031. He is asking for your trust, your support, and your vote — to build a future that works for all.
