In an astonishing display of pettiness and disregard for her constituents’ well-being, Investment Minister Hon Evelyn Anite after suffering a crushing defeat in the 2021 elections sent shockwaves through the community by mercilessly pulling the plug on a crucial ambulance service that had been a lifeline for countless lives.

2 years later, the cantankerous politician is not sorry for suffering and misery she could have brought to the constituency and possible death of citizens who could have failed to access medical care in real time, but rather brags about her pettiness, “I am proud of my actions.”

Anite who shot to limelight in 2014 by kneeling in Kyankwanzi to beg President Museveni to seek a reelection was defeated in 2021 by Dr Francis Ayume in Koboko District. She had codenamed herself, “gateway to Koboko.”

Instead of accepting her electoral defeat with grace, she took instead took a vindictive action of withdrawing the ambulance services leaving the electorates in misery. But to Anite, the voters reaped what they sowed.

“I actually did it, and I am very proud of my action. Once they said go away, I packed all my belongings and left them. now I hear people crying as if I was the first one to call it quits. The Bible says the wage of sin is death,” She callously boasted on Tuesday in a tweet that will forever be etched in the minds of many.

Her heartless move attracted widespread condemnation and disbelief, as it threatened the lives of those who relied on this essential service for urgent medical care.It remains unknown if she still harbours political ambitions as an MP or she is comfortable serving as an ex officio member with no support base in the constituency.
