Kira Municipality MP, Hon. Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, has sharply criticized President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s end-of-year address delivered on December 31, 2024, at 8:00 pm. Speaking during the first edition of NBS Frontline this year, Hon. Ssemujju expressed his dissatisfaction with the content of the address.

According to Hon. Ssemujju, the president’s speech fell into the category of routine briefings, even when there was no significant message for the public. He remarked that the president sounded unprepared, likening him to someone who had just been woken up and reminded to deliver the address.

The MP further reflected on his own experience during his early years at the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party, where he tried to avoid media engagements when he had nothing substantial to share. He explained that media houses often pressured politicians to speak, even when there was little to say, leading to routine and unproductive briefings.

Hon. Ssemujju’s comments raise questions about whether his criticism stems from political tensions between the ruling party and the opposition. What are your thoughts on his remarks and the president’s address? Share your views in the comments below.
