Arua Central Division is at a crossroads. Residents are looking for a leader who listens, acts decisively, and brings real solutions. They need someone with integrity, vision, and a proven record of service. Hon. Obindu Jackson is that leader—a rising figure committed to justice, development, and empowering the people of Arua Central.

Obindu’s leadership journey began long before politics. Growing up in Arua, he became known for advocating for those whose voices were overlooked. From student activism to championing the rights of marginalized groups, he consistently demonstrated dedication, responsibility, and service to the community.

After studying health sciences at Kampala International University (KIU), Obindu expanded his leadership roles. Beyond student government, he worked to unite students from across Uganda, especially the West Nile region, ensuring their concerns reached the national stage. As president of both the Northern Students Association and the West Nile Students Association, he pushed for better infrastructure, education funding, and opportunities for youth.

These early experiences shaped Obindu into a fearless leader, willing to tackle challenges and stand with the vulnerable. In 2020/2021, he ran for Youth MP for Northern Uganda. Although he did not win, his campaign underscored his dedication to youth empowerment, education, and economic growth.

Obindu’s commitment to the community goes far beyond politics. He is known for walking the streets of Arua, engaging with residents, and addressing the issues that matter most. From advocating for improved healthcare and education to defending street vendors’ rights, he has consistently shown up for the people.

In 2022, Obindu defended women of Onzivu Street whose goods were destroyed by authorities. That same year, he was arrested and tortured for supporting women traders in Smash Market, demanding their right to trade peacefully. In 2024, he was again detained for exposing corruption involving Gagaa Textile Market and Arua Central Division Main Market, where millions of taxpayer funds were mismanaged. His courage in confronting corruption highlights his commitment to accountability and good governance.

Obindu’s professional background further strengthens his leadership. As a clinical officer, he understands the healthcare challenges facing Arua Central. His studies in law equip him to fight for justice, human rights, and transparency, particularly in holding leaders accountable for corruption and abuse of power.

What makes Obindu exceptional is his deep connection with the community. His business experience gives him insight into local economic challenges, allowing him to create opportunities, attract investments, and ensure Arua Central thrives.

As the election nears, the people of Arua Central know who they can trust: Obindu Jackson. His opponent, Asega Habib Jojo, represents a political past filled with unfulfilled promises and missed opportunities. Many believe a return of Asega would only perpetuate corruption, inefficiency, and neglect in the region.

For the National Unity Platform (NUP), this election is pivotal. Choosing Obindu Jackson is not just about politics—it’s about shaping the future of Arua Central. He has the vision, courage, and track record to bring meaningful change. Obindu is a servant leader who puts the people first, even when it has cost him personal safety.

The message is clear: Hon. Obindu Jackson is the leader Arua Central needs—a champion for transparency, results, and opportunity. With him, the community will finally have a voice that is heard and a leader who delivers real change.
