President Museveni’s youngest daughter, Diana Museveni, has recently addressed her divorce from city businessman Geofrey Kamuntu. Diana Kyaremera has formally announced the dissolution of her marriage by applying to the National Identification Registration Authority (NIRA) to remove her husband’s name, Kamuntu.

In a notice published in the Uganda Gazette on September 29, 2022, Diana expressed her desire to be known as Diana Museveni Kyaremera.

“Notice is given that I Diana Museveni Kamuntu of P.O box 9021 Kampala, intend to apply to the National Identification Registration Authority to change my name to Diana Museveni Kyaremera”.

“I intend to formally and absolutely renounce and abandon the use of the name Kamuntu and assume and adopt in place of that name the name Kyaremera,” read part of the notice.

Diana, who married Geoffrey Kamuntu in July 2004, took to social media to share her sentiments about the divorce, expressing the difficulty of the situation, especially concerning their children. She requested privacy and continued support from the public during this challenging time.

Diana took her social media platform and posted, ”I have tried to keep my divorce private and out of the public sphere for the sake of my children. However, I feel the need to clarify now, it is with a heavy heart that I inform you all about my divorce. “

“As you all know divorce is a very difficult thing especially when there are children involved. I ask that the public continues to pray for my family as we move forward from this difficult time and that you will respect our privacy”.she added.

As of now, there has been no comment from Mr. Kamuntu regarding the divorce.

In conclusion, Diana Museveni’s decision to address her divorce publicly reflects the challenges individuals face when navigating such personal matters, particularly when they involve children.

Despite the complexities, Diana’s courage to share her experience demonstrates resilience and a commitment to transparency. As she moves forward, she seeks understanding and respect for her family’s privacy.

Love is not related to wealth or money. Conclusively, money cannot be exchanged in monetary terms evedenced by that scenario.
