This past weekend was a historical one especially in the land of Busoga who witnessed the second royal wedding after over 67 years when their previous king Henry Wako Muloki III wedded his wife Alice Muloki is a wedding which happened many years ago.

Kyabazinga of Busoga William Wilberforce Nadiope Kadhumbula IV walked down the isle with his Inebantu Jovia Mutesi in a colorful and pompous wedding that attracted thousands of subjects and top shots mostly from cultural institutions and Museveni’s government.

Prior to the wedding there was talk that the King had been in another marriage to a one Ann Alison Nadiope who claims got married to the Kyabazinga in 2016 from the United Kingdom in a civil marriage. The kingdom through the Katukiro Dr Joseph Muvawala would later come out to say those are just social media talks confirming that the King has never sired any kid nor been in any known marriage with any one.

Alison reportedly went ahead to instruct her lawyers to put the church and the kingdom on notice that they risk a long legal battle in court should they proceed with the said wedding which has now happened.

However in a turn of events, perennial litigant Male Mabirizi has revealed that he’s dragging the Busoga King to court along side others for engaging in an illegal marriage. The others to be sued include the Inebantu Jovia Mutesi, Arch Bishop Kazimba Mugalu and the Buganda queen Sylvia Naginda.

The city lawyer who is fond of running to court on anything has previously had two of his important cases be taken up by the Director of Public Prosecutions. In his case against pastor Bujingo who marrying Makula when he was still legally married with Teddy was taken over by the DPP as well as that where he dragged Museveni’s son Muhoozi who holding political rallies when he’s still a serving army officer.

“It has been agreed after looking at all the laws that the five charges with the first one being fictitious marriage which is picked from section 48 of the marriage act, this is specifically for Nadiope who is much aware that he has a marriage contracted in London but at the end of the day he ends up claiming and lying to people that he has never had such a marriage and entering into a second marriage, the second offence is bigamy again the Kyabazinga who much aware that he has a marriage which is subsisting but he ends up contracting another marriage”- says Mabirizi

Mabirizi further states that the newly wed Inebantu Mutesi Jovia will cases of going into a marriage ceremony with a married person yet she’s much aware and was put on notice that the man is married but she went ahead to marry him.

“The fourth offence is against Kazimba Mugalu for officiating at a marriage while aware that the marriage he was conducting was unlawful and marriage act punishes that with Five years imprisonment and Naginda combined with the rest into one offence conspiracy to commit felonies contrary to section 390 of the penal code act and well much aware that the man was already married, they conspired to commit such offences as prohibited by the marriage act and the penal code act”- the seasoned Lawyer reveals.
